HOW TO GET HERE

 

From Toulouse, follow either the direction of Foix via the RN20 or the direction of Montpellier / Foix via the A61 motorway then follow Foix / Andorre by the A66 motorway called the "Ariègeoise". Follow the same road until you reach Ax les Thermes.

After leaving the RN20 near Ax les Thermes in the direction of Orlu, follow the road until you reach a hamlet called "Les Forges d'Orlu". At the place-name sign, turn left and follow the road until you reach the car park.

Remember to leave fairly early so that you can enjoy the moutain but also arrive at the refuge before 6:30pm and have the time to rest a bit before dinner around 7 / 7:30pm and finally so that we do not worry about you.
You can rent a donkey at the car park should you feel the need for some help, but booking is mandatory. For more information, visit the website of the Donkeys farm.

The normal access to the refuge can be done in a 3h trek through bridleways and footpaths via the Réserve Nationale de Faune Sauvage d'Orlu.

Of course, you can also arrive to the refuge via the refuge of Camporells, the refuge of Bouillouses or the refuge of Bésines.
