Follow our advice to avoid problems......

Generally......

Before going to a refuge, some checks are necessary. For your own safety, avoid going on your own and check the weather conditions. Always contact the guardians to book in advance, enquire about time constraints or access conditions. While booking, remember to notify us of any medical treatement, allergy or special nutritional needs.

Remember to prepare appropriately, taking with you the necessary equipement without overloading yourself. (see below)

For the night, the refuge provide matt resses, blankets and pillows. However, a sleeping bag liner is strongly advised for hygiene sake. Ear plugs could be necessary for a good night sleep as you might find yourself sleeping with people snoring...

Upon arrival, present yourself to the guardians. They manage the entire refuge, from reception to cooking. They can also off er good advice regarding treks you planned in the area.

The refuge rely on everybody’s goodwill. It is usual for customer to help clearing tables or tidy up their bed. Diner (a set menu) and breakfast are served at set times on large tables to ease management, but a good ambience is guaranteed. For everybody’s comfort, please do respect the times set.

Never leave your rubbish behind you. It is your responsibility to take them back in the valley with you.

On a practical level, there is no mobile network available and thetelephone of the refuge is only for limited use (emergencies, bookings...).

Also, in the Orlu National Reserve, dogs are prohibited (even on a leash) as well as the use of drones.

In any case, respect and friendlyness will contribute to make your stay agreable and successful !

Time and cancellation :                                                                 horloge

To enjoy fully your time in themontain, it is advised to leavein the morning. The times givenare walking times for an average person, without breaks. In orderto have enough time to getset up without hurry and for management sake, you must arrive before 6:30pm at the latest at the refuge.

For cancellations and changes in your booking, please do notify us as early as possible and 48h before arrival at the latest.

If the weather is bad, put a change of clothes in a bin bag in your backpack...

Avoid overloading yourself. For example, the refuge provide sleepers/flipflops.

Avoid electronic gadgets or be savvy with your batteries as there are no available plugs for charging at the refuge.

• 1 fl ask (1L minimum)

• 1 pair of sunglasses

• Sun cream and lipstick

• 1 torch or headlamp

• 1 thermal blanket

• 1 sleeping bag liner (light, blankets are available at the refuge) léger, il y a des couvertures au refuge)

• 1 waterproof jacket

• 1 warm fleece or jumper

• 1 war shirt or mid layer fl eece

• 1 pair of trousers or leggings

• 1 extra pair of good quality socks

• A small first aid kit (for blisters, cuts, personnal medication...)
